We are stuck inside today as the snow piles up outside, so I looked up playdough recipes and here are the ones that we liked.
Regular Playdough
Mix in saucepan over low heat. (It does not have to heat long.) Dough is ready when it rolls into a ball. Keep dough fresh in an airtight container. If you need to make different colors, add food coloring while mixing over heat.
Cornstarch Clay 2 cups salt 1 cup cornstarch 1 1/3 cup water (divided)
Heat 2/3 cup of water and salt in a medium sauce pan until it boils. Mix the remaining water and cornstarch in a seperate bowl until smooth. Add the cornstarch mix to the hot salt mix and continue stiring over low heat until the mixture sets up. Food coloring can be added to the salt mix or when dried, clay can be painted. Keep playdough in an air tight container. | |
